New Year’s Eve symbolizes a fresh start for many, which is why it’s important to celebrate the holiday in the right way. If you’re planning to throw a New Year’s Eve party this year, there are a few things you can do to make life a little easier.
According to Real Simple, drinks and snacks are a must. It may be best to create a diverse spread, including healthy options as well as more traditional snacks. For example, you can have chips and dip, shrimp cocktails, and quiches, but also provide carrot sticks, almonds, and olives for those who may want to start their resolutions to eat healthy early.
Next, have some games ready. Nothing kills a party like an awkward silence, so have some fun party games ready to go as icebreakers. You can write everyone’s resolution on a card and take turns guessing who wrote it, or you can also play a fill-in-the-blank game with resolutions to help get the ball rolling. The best games are the simple ones, so don’t overthink it.
Finally, get some tunes ready. While “Auld Lang Syne” is a classic, there are a few songs you may want to add to your playlist. These include “Happy New Year” by ABBA, “It’s Just Another New Year” by Barry Manilow, and “This is the New Year” by A Great Big World. These tunes will set the perfect mood for your next New Year’s Eve bash.

It’s Christmastime in West Babylon, and that means it’s time to transform your home into a winter wonderland with some easy DIY holiday crafts.
Make your own tree skirt
Head to the craft store for some felt in your favorite Christmas colors, then cut out a pattern to surround the base of your Christmas tree.
String up some garland or lights
Use command hooks to adorn your mantle, archways, and stairwells with evergreen garland or classic white Christmas lights.
Design tasty centerpieces
Use clear containers wrapped with pretty bows to hold holiday candy on your dinner table. Separate green, red, and silver Hershey’s Kisses to create a pattern in the container, and throw in some red and white peppermint candies for added flare.
Or use ornaments
Classic ornaments in blues, silvers, reds, golds, and greens make for lovely centerpieces. Place them in elegant bowls with some bits of evergreen and pinecones for an easy centerpiece.
Break out the wine
Repurpose empty elegant green wine bottles to hold long candlesticks. Adorn the bottles with red and gold bows.
Decorate a wreath
Take a plain evergreen wreath and make it pop with ornaments, fake snow, and more.
